Tom Glynn a native of
Thomandgate was a prolific ballad composer
and poet. Most of his compositions were set in his own district.
His best
known songs/ballads are "Dear Old Thomondgate" and
"My Dog Bran"
and he also wrote the ballads "Where the Streams of Meelick
Flow" and
"The Road to Killaloe".
