Paddy McCormack

Paddy McCormack was a music teacher for many years and the founder
of the McCormack singers. This group performs two songs on this C.D.
The first songs "Tis of Limerick We Sing" has the title of the C.D.
This song describes the theme of our C.D. in the best possible manner.
The second which is the Gaelic language will be remembered
by many of the older people of Limerick, it is called"Slan le maigh".

The McCormack singers also provide the backing for Joe Niland with his
rendition of "There is a Isle". This song is sung by the Shannon Rugby Cluband
it is reputed that a Scottish nun who was based in St. Mary's parishcomposed
the song. While the song was originally a reference to her nativehome, the people
of the parish started to sing the song as an anthem for thearea which is an
island within Limerick city.
