16th May 2002

FUGAZI gig cancelled

A word about Tooth
It’s 3.46 AM. 16th May 2002.
Tooth are playing in the Top Floor of the Savoy on Monday 17th of June. We will be supporting Fugazi.
Tooth nearly sorted out a support slot with Fugazi on their last trip to Ireland. So us supporting Fugazi in Limerick this time is justifiable as a piece of unfinished business and inexcusable as a dispicable abuse of power by me in my position in the AMC. But if you were in my shoes, you’d do the same. Anyway, Tooth’s PA desk has been used constantly for the last 2.5 years by the AMC, so the AMC owes Tooth. Tooth deserve it in their own right. Tooth haven’t played a note since May 2001. Being in a band is hard to keep going in the real world. Bring on the world where we can bang on our axes of evil all day.

Love Mark

GOODNAMEFORABAND

Goodnameforaband will be playing in the High Stool this Friday Oct 5th supporting Jetplane Landing. Check out the AMC for more.

30th July 2001

GOODNAMEFORABAND

Mark, Liam and Stephen will be doing a little side project thingy this Saturday August 4th as part of the AMC/High Stool noisefest weekend. Their sound is being described as post alt. emo. hardcore melodic angular riffarama punk country evil fugazi toast pre-tenacity tingling with a hint of melodramatic mother.

Come and see, they'll be the ones called GOODNAMEFORABAND

7th March 2001

The upcoming Commercial Breakdown Compilation (#3) on Blank Canvas Records (featuring two tooth songs, Generation Swine and Arbogast) has been delayed somewhat because all the masters were stolen!  Bummer no? Keep an eye on www.blankcanvas.co.uk for a release date and copies will be available from us or from Blank Canvas.

There are still a few copies of 'That Corporate Emotion EP' in some shops around the country, so grab em while you can.

Finally if www.tooth.ie is too boring for you then have a look at Conor's tooth site at www15.brinkster.com/tooth and get a different perspective on things.

Tooth have also been nominated as band of the week on the new "Irish & British Underground Site. featuring the latest news,demos,Live/Album, free stuff and a wicked sound gallery". You can visit it at www16.brinkster.com/thrashworx and if you're feeling lucky you can enter a competition to win a copy of our EP. What more do you want?

18th January 2001

Like Arbogast and Generation Swine? Well Blank Canvas do! These boys are a label o'er the sea in England, who put out a compilation/sampler type thing every once in a while. It's called Commercial Breakdown, and the last one sold over 1000 copies on its' first day of release! It was on the listening posts in Virgin and HMV all around England AND was extremely favourably reviewed in all the glossy mags. As I mentioned already, the two songs we'll have on it will be Arbogast and Generation Swine. Tooth will be sitting alongside such names as Charger, Deceivers, Freebase, Ridgeback, Snub, Medulla Nocte, 8th Victim, Ambervoid and Tence. Needless to say, we're fairly excited and we'll make sure to pass on more info as we get it. Sweet.

You can visit Blank Canvas at www.blankcanvas.co.uk if you want...

Just an update on an earlier news item, we are playing in Whelans on the 8th of July with the Redneck Manifesto. Doors at 1.30pm, admission is £3.

12th June 2000

Conas ata sibh?

Tooth are putting the finishing touches to a bit of recording that we've been doing lately that will hopefully materialise into a split 7" with Medic, who are also beavering away somewhere for your aural satisfaction. When the final note is mixed it's off to the Czech Republic for pressing and then artwork and design have to be looked after - send on your blank cheques and crayon noodlings - both would be appreciated. We're planning on doing a launch night here in Limerick and then a few gigs around the fair isle also: *anyone wanting us to play in their city, town, village, garden - give us a shout, you would know better than us where would be good to play* We have been invited by the Redneck Manifesto to play with them in Whelans, Dublin on July 8th - it's an afternoon gig and there may well be a few more playing also...could be a good one. The gig with Sweep The Leg Johnny was a bit of a shambles - the bass cab died a minute into our first song and the replacement amp arrived just after our last song, let's say that it could have been better. STLJ's set was amazing, absolutely brilliant...made up for us. See them if you can when they come back in December, get their album in the meantime. Keep an eye on thumped.com and go.to/theamc for whats rockin' near you. That's all folks

18th May 2000

Long time no e-contact, that last batch of gigs went very well - thanks to Dave, Paddy, Batty and Anti - Hero (nerdlinger now!) for the Roscommon and Longford gigs. And the kids, Stoat, Annapurna and Richy for the Dublin one. Those who missed Oi Polloi - shame, the were most entertaining. The Goal Charity gig raised a grand total of £1,140.20 - a fantastic success. A big thank you to everyone involved; all the bands, sponsors and everyone at Wired FM and the Warehouse.

Next gig is in the Mouse Trap in Kilkenny on Saturday 27th May with Annapurna and Brooder...looking forward to it. Admission £3 starts at 9pm The AMC web page I'm assured will be up and running shortly so keep an eye on it for upcoming Limerick scene improvements...more class gigs.

Monday 5th June, Savoy Limerick with Sweep the Leg Johnny (USA), more banbs TBC more info to follow soon.

 A few fanzines worth mentioning:

Unfit For Consumption - interviews (Snapcase, Dropkick Murphys, 2000 Strong..) live and record reviews - well worth the £2 (or 456,298,122.1244 euros) from Trevor Meehan, 46 Rosturra Cres., Woodview Pk, Limerick.

15th Dec 1999

The 'Nobody gives a F**k so why should we?' CD will be launched this coming Saturday - December 18th in Costellos, Limerick. Six bands, 18 songs, 1 CD - only £5. Bands playing on the day will include Medic, Triskil, Ember and ourselves and it kicks off at around 3pm. Admission is only £2/£3 (?)

A good night had by all in Cork on Saturday, top gigs by Earthtone9 and Ten Point Rule and thanks to Joe and Trevor for helping us to get the gig. And also to Richard for the most comfortable transport. Well done to the Aspersion Music Collective on their first showcase, seemed to go really well for them.

Sorry about the gremlins on the webpage, there were major network problems where the site is based.

1st Dec 1999

tooth will play Costellos, Limerick on Saturday 11th December along with The Hitchers, Bandog, Veneer, Catcher and Barberskum. The gig is organised by Limerick's new Music Collective, yet to be named, but it promises to boost this town's music 'scene'. Doors open at 2pm and tickets cost a mere £3. We'll probably be on first as we've to be in Cork that evening to play with - Earthtone9, Ten Point Rule and Defect in An Phoenix. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are about £4. Should be a rifftasmic evening by all accounts. A little mention for the With Harmful Intent fanzine, it covers punk/hardcore/metal. Includes interviews with our good selves, Puget Sound and Medulla Nocte. Send just £1 to the man - Cormac Sheehan, 14 Antogher Rd., Roscommon, Ireland. Worth every penny (except for the misquotes - you'll be hearing from our very expensive team of lawyers first thing in the morning Kormy!)
