Welcome to the University of Limerick Sub-Aqua Club

Welcome to ULSAC

UL Sub-Aqua Club is based in the University of Limerick, in the South-West of Ireland. We are an active SCUBA diving and training club, and our members are mostly students, staff and alumni of UL, along with a few external members. For information on the joining process, training and other questions, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions page.

For an idea of what we get up to, both in Ireland and abroad, have a look at our photo gallery and videos. Upcoming events, both for our club and for CFT clubs around the country can be found in the Upcoming Events section!

Members should register on the site to gain access to forms for organising trips, committee documents, and the ability to submit news stories. Information on the upcoming Emergency General Meeting is also available to members in the news section.

Summer Diving Schedule

Hey All!

I assume that most people are approaching the end of their exams at this point in the semester, and are starting to look forward to the summer ahead! We’re definitely excited about what looks like being one of our busiest summers in recent memory... If people are available they should be able to get in as much diving as they can stand, and we’re going to be trying to keep all costs well within the student budget!

This isn't even close to a complete list of what going on, and there will be other trips, for people of all qualification levels. We're working on getting a rota of people to organise evening trips on week-nights at the moment, and any time the weekend is looking in any way diveable we're likely to get a trip going somewhere. This is just a list of what we're definitely planning at the moment, but keep an eye on email and on Facebook for more up to date information! Our website also has a sometimes up-to-date list of upcoming trips for logged in members on the Upcoming Trips page.

Hit "Read More" to see what the summer’s looking like so far. Sign up for the Skelligs trip and the Croatia trip has already begun, and it's first come, first served with all of these, so act fast if interested!

New Boathouse Rules

Hey All,

We're slightly changing how the boathouse keys are taken care of.

In future, they will never leave campus, and will be kept in the security hut by the visitor car park. If someone needs to get something from the boathouse they will have to sign them out and return them promptly. The security hut is manned 24/7. Only committee members and the following people are authorised to take the keys:

Pepijn Van de Ven, Adrian Thomas, Donal Cahill, Kate Newman, Kate Lawlor, Noel Guinane.

Newsflash

On Saturday we are diving the world famous drift dive at Aughinish Island, Co Clare (near Ballyvaghan). We'll meet up in the car park of Leenanes, the well known seafood restaurant which is right on the pier. About 15-20 minutes before high tide we'll drop into the harbour all of a 2 meter walk from the cars :). Swimming out into the current we'll be swept along at up to 6 knots until the tide turns and we are swept back to the harbour! Lots of crab, lobster and anemones! Magic :)
