April 29th 2012: Please note Badminton training will continue at the normal times on Mondays and Wednesdays up to and including May 28th. After this time we are switching to Summer schedule starting on Wednesday May 30th until the end of August. As per previous years during Summer schedule there will be a small fee of €3 each night to cover the cost of the courts.
Please vote on the UL Badminton Club website if you intend to joing us during the summer as it will give us an idea of numbers attending: Vote @ http://badminton.csn.ul.ie/ (Poll on the right hand side).
April 26th 2012: Best of luck to everyone in the upcoming exams! We will be having a badminton end of season party and awards night after the end of exams.
April 23rd 2012: Success in the Limerick League! The UL Badminton Club grade 5 team fought hard tonight to overcome Effin in the county final. The final score was UL winning 4-2. The UL team will now go forward to represent Limerick in the Munters.
April 18th 2012: The UL grade 5 team were on flying form tonight to beat Trinity in the county semi final bringing them through to the county final against Effin. There were incredibly tough matches however UL dug deep and came though, highlights including the mens doubles coming back from being 13-20 down to win the set 22-20 and the first mixed winning an extremely difficult match in the 3rd set 22-20. The final will take place April 23rd in Manister.
March 21st 2012: The UL grade 5 team are through to the Limerick League county semi-final against Trinity after a brilliant season. Best of luck to the team and lets hope they can go all the way. It will be held on the 18th April in Manister.
March 8th 2012: Two teams travel today to represent UL in the Intervarsities in Galway. Best of luck!
March 4th 2012: The Grade 3 and 5 Limerick Championships were held today and were UL were heavily represented. Rachel Harrison and Bridie Welsh came away with the grade 5 ladies doubles title. Garvan Dunford and Rachel Harrison were runners up in the mixed grade 5. Jenny Critchley and Virge Pesti were winners in the ladies doubles grade 3 and Fearghal Hughes and Virge Pesti won the mixed grade 3.
October 21st 2011: Please note that Badminton Club will not be able to train on Monday night (24th Oct) on Court 1 due to a large event happening at this time in the Arena for the ‘ Ger Hartmann Book Launch’. This is to accommodate the large numbers of VIP’s attending this event. The Badminton Club can continue to train as normal on Court 4 on this night from 9:15-11:00.
October 4th 2011: Tonight the 'Badminton Freshers Party' is being held in 'The Scholars' bar on campus, there will be finger food, drinks and guarenteed banter! Come along to meet more members of the club.
September 22nd 2011: It has been decided the 'UL Badminton Freshers Party' will be held in 'The Scholars' bar on campus on Tuesday the 4th of October. There will be finger food, drink vouchers and nightclub passes. This is a great way for new members and existing members to meet! Don't miss it!
September 19th 2011: First few weeks of recruiting members has gone fantastic. We are running beginners classes every night from 9pm-10pm as well as trials for league teams and intervarsities teams. Be sure to come down! We are also in the process of organising are first badminton social night out of the year, more info to follow.
September 5th 2011: Another college year has started! Be sure to come down to see what UL Badminton Club has to offer you! We cater for levels of play and have a great social side including foreign badminton trips abroad.
May 22nd 2011: A great night was had last night at the Badminton Ireland Awards, there was alot of great competition and it was lovely to see numerous different badminton clubs throughout the country represented. Club member Damian Hehir was successful in securing Connaught province 'Volunteer of the Year' award. Congratulations to Damian!
May 21st 2011: Tonight representatives from the club are up at the Badminton Ireland Awards in Terenure, Dublin. The club is nominated for 'Club of the Year', 'Website of the Year' and member of the club Damian Hehir is nominated for 'Volunteer of the Year'. Fingers crossed!
April 24th 2011: 18 members of the club spent the last four days in Aberdeen, Scotland competing in the Aberdeen International Student Badminton Tournament. The members had a very successful tournament winning in all divisions!
April 14th 2011: Unfortunately the club level team lost out in the county final tonight to Effin. It was a great show of badminton and a pity UL didn't come out on top!
April 6th 2011: In the Limerick league, the club level team has qualified for the county final. Best of luck to them! The advanced player team finished in third place.

March 3rd 2011: The Badminton club is organising a quiz night Thursday 24 March from 8.00 in the sportsbar. All welcome.
February 10th 2011: The grade 4 (advanced level) team had mixed fortunes in recent Limerick league games. Players narrowly lost to Mungret, the strongest team in the competition, but had a comforting win against Foynes. Both grade 4 and grade 6 (club level) teams are strong contenders for a semi-final in the competition.
January 27th 2011: The second last week end of January, nine members of the club attended the newly created Galway Student Badminton Tournament (GSBT). The team had a successful tournament and came back with one mens singles title in the top category and one ladies doubles title in the club standard category.
January 9th 2011: Happy new year 2011 from all of us in the badminton club. Training in the Arena has resumed as usual from the second week of January. League games will re-start early in the term. Do not hesitate to come and support the UL badminton teams.
November 18th 2010: Due to the autumn exams, there will be no badminton training after Wednesday 1 December. Training will resume in January. The teams had a tough start in the Limerick league as they faced some of the toughest teams in the competition. Grade 4 and grade 6 lost 5-2.
November 2nd 2010: The Limerick badminton league has now started. Training times have therefore slightly changed: during the league season, team training will take place Mondays and Wednesdays from 20.15 to 21.15. There will be limited space for casual players until 21.15 but all courts are opened to members from 21.15 till 23.00.
October 22nd 2010: The Limerick badminton league will be starting very soon. Games work on a home and away basis. The UL badminton club has entered a team in three categories: grade 6 (entry level), grade 4 (experienced players) and grade 2/3 (very experienced players).
October 8-9 2010: The Irish International Student Badminton Tournament will take place in the Sports Arena, University of Limerick from the 22nd-26th October 2010.
