Saturday October 20th, 2007 Pat and I

Well, October 20th has come and gone and what a wonderful day it was. It was the most relaxed and fun day we could have imagined and it was all of you who made it that. So, thanks to all of you who made this day so very special for us both!

Where and When

The wedding took place Saturday, October 20th 2007 at 1pm at Maghera Church, Maghera, Co. Clare.

The Ceremony

  • What can we say? The ceremony was truly special. Father McInerny was right in congratulating especially the Germans for finding the place at all! But you can rest assured that regular practice runs were made to ensure no-one would get lost! :)
At this point, we would like to thank the past and present members of the UL Folk Group from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding so wonderful and special. People have been raving about your singing ever since and they are right...you all were brilliant. We cannot say how much we appreciate you doing this for us. You made the day in so many ways. So thanks to all of you:

Donal, Sonya, Dave F, Dave D, Maeve, Gareth, Mick, Deirdre, Sean, Elaine, Rachel, Catriona, Donal E (even though you did not sing :)).

    Reception

I think everybody is in agreement that from the grub and session in Malachy's to the dinner and dancing in the Clare Inn, the whole evening was thoroughly enjoyable. The food was gorgeous (kudos to the Clare Inn!) and the music was fantastic, made even better by the occasional interludes of some of you! (You know who you are!) Fraggle Rock, I think, went down a treat!
Thanks a mil to Pat's parents Pat and Maura for organising Malachy's! It was a brilliant idea!
As for my niece, she had us all in stitches. I will never forget poor Pat's face during the key game. You had to be there! Well done and thank a mil, Sarah. Pity about the alarm going off during your song because it was very nice and lovely with Dave's fiddle accompaniment.
Thanks also to Ingo for the slideshow...very well done!

If I could, I would do it all again in the morning. It was a fantastic day...thanks to so many people!!!

    Gifts

What can we say...you all have been so generous, thoughtful and kind in choosing your gift and we appreciate and treasure every single one of it. Some of the monetary donations have already been put to good use and bought us a nice dresser for the kitchen...to store all the other lovely gifts we have received. You have all been most kind...and do not fret, the official thank you cards will be on the way soon, too! Just beginning to wish we had kept better track of the addresses!
