Hello and welcome to my homepage

Me and the sister

Welcome. You may have stumbled across me on your search for the Clooney-Quin hurling website. I am told I am the first link to pop up on Google. Not quite sure how that happened but you are welcome anyway.

The name's Steph (O'Loughlin now but a nee Roever - hence the link to "The Wild Rover" which was made by a friend of mine, not me - it has to be said and I have finally left the University of Limerick . I am still wondering what on earth made me live here, as opposed to my lovely little efficient home town Erfurt where I was born some 20 odd years ago. But alas, I have been here 10 years now, married a fella from Clooney (funny that "Spancil Hill" was one of the first Irish songs I learnt to play on the guitar!) and planted my roots in Limerick - although I do hope to upgrade to "the better county" (Clare) and more specifically, East Clare at some point or another.

He, by the way, that over there on your left, that is me when I was ickle and the gorgeous looking blonde next to me is my older sister Babette!

News Flash! (Old news at this point, but hey!)

Clooney-Quin have won the Junior B Hurling Championship against Cratloe in an exciting match last Sunday, September 30th. Most people who were there will probably agree that it was far more interesting than the rugby! Well done lads!!! Below there are Mike and Rory with the cup and their little cousins!
Now, one, two, three: Awwwww!

and their cousins

This a blast from the past, isn't it? These, ladies and gents, are the Clooney County Champions of 1942.
Now, why do I have that sitting on my webpage? Well, standing in the back row, 6th from the left is my future husbands grand-father. The grand tradition of hurling is still followed in this East Clare family today. :)
