Society history

The Outreach society was initially founded to take part in community programs. The aim of the society is to get involved with various groups within the community to form a mutually beneficial relationship.

Tara McCabe, the then Welfare officer of the Students’ Union, founded the Society four years ago and the role of President of the society has subsequently passed to incoming Welfare Officers.

Since its inception the society has been affiliated to the Limerick Thomond rotary club and last year the Outreach society became the basis of the foundation of the UL rotaract club. Members of the Outreach society are invited to become members of the UL rotoract club. Rotoract provides an international network of clubs with similar aims and objectives to that of the Outreach society.
