FINAL YEAR PROJECT - OBJECTIVE
- to develop an application that will allow multiple program files to be visualised / compared

The project involves the analysis, design and implementation of a Software Visualisation and Comparison Tool with the following features :

1. Allow multpile files to be displayed
2. Compare / highlight similar structures, code segments, variables in each file, etc
3. Provide a % of similarities between modules
4. Show on screen the files being compared
5. Display side by side the files being compared

Another main feature of the project is to research the software visualisation area in detail. The project will be undertaken in the following manner.


RESEARCH
This will involve researching the whole area of s/w visualisation and comparison through reading white papers and relevant internet sites on the subject matter. This section of the project will be completed by the end of Week 6 in the first semester.

ANALYSIS
The analysis of the specification and initial function of the tool

DESIGN
I hope to use OMT (Object Modelling Technique) to help in the design of the interface and backround code. Note : OMT will also be applied to the Analysis stage.

IMPLEMENTATION
The implementation language will be Microsoft Visual C++ 5.0 on Windows 95 operating system. This will occur at the ned of semster 1 and through semester 2.
