Suva

The view from the deck at the Suva Homestay

Chief's House, Lovoni

Me and Sue in the Chief's plush house...the chief himself wandered in, bummed a fag off our guide, mumbled 'Bula' at us and wandered off again. We could hardly contain our awe!

Lovoni

This is Sue with Epi, our Fijian guide...the village is built in a very large extinct vulcano crater

Ovalau

This is a view out to the sea from high up on the island of Ovalau

Leuleuvia

This is a view of Leuleuvia at low tide...the water is full of sea snakes!

Leuleuvia

The speck in the distance is Susan, just after I mentioned the sea snakes...

Hermit crabs

Hermit crabs are mad little crabs who make their homes in shells...we decided to have a hermit crab race, where we each had to go off and catch ourselves a hermit crab (just go anywhere and look for a shell which moves when it thinks you aren't looking) and then we raced 'em! Susan's little guy won every time

Skink?

This little guy was quite anxious that he be allowed to crawl down the back of my shirt...

Sunrise on Leuleuvia

I once woke up at about 5am to find that the sun was just coming out, so I stumbled out and took this photo
