France created history in completing the World Cup, Euro Championship double in Rotterdam last night beating Italy 2-1 after extra time. The "Azzuri" had gone in front courtesy of Delevechio, but goals by Wiltord and Trezeguet secured France their Champions crown.

Italy knock out the Dutch in penalty shoot out.
The "Azzuri" qualified for the final of Euro2000 with a penalty shoot out victory over co-hosts Holland in the Amsterdam Arena. The Italians who were reduced to 10 players after 30 minutes clung on grimly in a match which saw Holland miss two penalties during the 90 minutes.
