Yes ! Its a Doggie Doo Dumpster ! Wooo !

We spent the weekend in Mt Maunganui, famous for its long sandy beaches and surf dudes. Got to see kite surfing for the first time, really cool. Mark keeps threatening to try it but hasn't bothered organising anything yet.

It wasn't incredibly sunny on our first day there so we never thought about sun cream..... thankfully I had a long skirt and long sleeves, but my face got roasted from the wind on the beach.

There was a national beach volley ball comp on while we were there. Kept us amused for a while, Mark was impressed by their volleyball skills but I have to admit that I was paying attention to some of their other talents :)

Poor Mark has a meeting every Tuesday night for work (10pm here, 10am at home). Its so hard on him ...

Just down the road there's a bird sanctuary that goes along the bay. They really make an effort with these little reserves. Sometimes it seems a bit over the top but ...

Just to prove we have a nice view from our balcony ... here it is ...

The island you can see in the distance is "Rangitoto", an extinct volcano. We took the ferry over there a while back and walked to the top. The island is like a moonscape or something with jagged shattered rocks sticking up all over the place.

From this one you can see Hobson Bay which comes in just down the hill from our apartment. Its nice to be so close to the water.
