The sitting president, Mick Phelan, is running for re-election against Aengus Collins-O'Malley. I am personally working on Mick's Campaign, as I believe that he is the best candidate for the job. From working with him this year on class reps and other things, I know he can get the job done, and this is what we need in the SU. The other positions were uncontested, with only one candidate for each. Therefore, Tom O'Donovan, the sitting Education Officer has been deemed to be re-elected, Tara Curley has been deemed to be elected to the position of Welfare officer, and Patrick Kennedy has been deemed Communications and Campaigns Officer. A referendum will also be held on the motion that the Student's Union Shop ban Nescafe. This is a motion brought by the Environmental Society, and information will be available during the week from both sides. I'll be running around like a mad thing during the week working on the campaigns, but ye can always catch me on the mobile - 087-6618251. Talk to ye again soon Margaret
