Hey Wacken friends from Area B. You can use the link on the top right to
add me in the facebooks. See you in Dublin for Amon Amarth.
So I only have limited access at work (hense the
lack of updates, sorry) but omg NIN and Jane's addiction are playing
Oxegen!!
There's a site called toutless.com which is an attempt at helping people find tickets to gigs at cost price or less. It's very useful for sold out gigs or indeed if you need to offload some tickets yourself.
I've *my* tickets to Wacken. Have you?
"the rage that made you stagger"
Sorry about the mess, I've very odd access
at work these
days. I'll try and fix this when I get home but for now, here's some gigs.

bandiki
April 18th (Saturday) - AC/DC - O2, Dublin - 67.70 euro
Na na nanananananana THUNDER!! Can you feel it? Biggest and best stadium rock band of all time. They're not playing Slane like we were all promised but who really believed that was going to happen anyway? Oh boys and girls grab some tickets and let's RAWK!!!
bandiki
February 10th (Tuesday) - Judas Priest, Megadeth, Testament - O2, Dublin - 45.20 euro
This is big. Also I hear that if you walk into a Judas Priest gig backwards you can hear Satan.
bandiki
February 9th (Monday) - Lamb of God - The Acadamy, Dublin - 25.50 euro
One of the most popular metal bands of recent times. A friend of mine went as far as getting a full leg tatoo. This is a motherfucking invitation. See you there.
bandiki
February 4th (Wednesday) - Soulfly - The Acadamy, Dublin - 25.50 euro
Soulfly are a great band live. I'll be hitting the slopes this week in France so I can't make it. You should.
bandiki
December 19th (Friday) - Kerbdog - Andrews Lane, Dublin - 21 euro
Cormac is making this something of a tradition :)
bandiki
December 6th (Saturday) - Trivium - Ambassador, Dublin - 31 euro
Now that Mastodon and Trivium are both playing Dublin I'm waiting patiently for Slayer to announce they'll join their touring partners and hit the city. I miss Slayer.
bandiki
December 3rd (Wednesday) - Mastodon - Vicar Street, Dublin - 24.50 euro
I've seen them in support a
couple of times. They were good live but I'm not too pushed at seeing them headline. Having said that I do like Vicar St. as a venue so maybe I'll stop in if there's nothing on tv :)
bandiki
December 2nd (Tuesday) - Meat Puppets - Whelans, Dublin - 23.50 euro
One of the bands brought into the spotlight by Nirvana's MTV unplugged sessions. Great in their own right and well worth going to. You'll recognise songs like Oh Me, Lake of Fire and Plateaux instantly.
bandiki
November 18th (Tuesday) - Opeth - Vicar Street, Dublin - 32.00 euro
There an amazing band. I just
missed them in Rock am Ring. Mmmmm, Rock am Ring. That was fun. Mikael has great rapour with the audience.
bandiki
November 7th (Friday) - Flogging Mollys (Eastpack Antidote Tour, The Street Dogs, Time Again) - Ambassador, Dublin
Yeah baby, Friday is fight night. If it's your first time, you have to fight.
bandiki
Oct 31st/Nov 1st(Fri/Sat) - Motorhead - Ambassador, Dublin - 49.20 euro
I know it's a bit pricey for the Ambassasdor and yes, Simon, we all know you saw Star Wars there.
Anyway. Motorhead rock and own various parts of your collective anatomy. You should scurry along and see them live before Lemmy dies of it.
Whatever it is. Show starts at 19:30. Oh, I suppose I'll be dressed up as something and hitting the bars instead. Damned hallows een.
Horay for the extra date. So come on Saturday night, hit the 'head.
bandiki
October 13th (Monday) - deUS - Tripod, Dublin - 24.50 euro
Hey Lee. Here, look they're back. You gonna make the trek up or finally admit that you never really liked them and bought that album because you thought the cover looked cool? Hmmm?
bandiki
October 12th (Sunday) - Dragonforce - Ambassador, Dublin - 32.60 euro
I'm just going to rip off the mcd press release. "Inhuman Rampage" left the press in a state of critical meltdown. "While most bands want to be bigger than Metallica, DragonForce have the capacity to exceed Star Wars," gushed the UK's Metal Hammer magazine. "How DragonForce will ever top this album remains to be seen," agreed its gobsmacked sister title, Kerrang! had already got in on the act, declaring: "DragonForce are only getting bigger. Prepare for the onslaught."
bandiki
October 1st (Wednesday) - Jubilee - Whelans, Dublin - 20 euro
See this here? This could be very exciting. It's a side project collaboration between Aaron North from NIN, Michael Schuman from QoTSA and two, count them, two other blokes! Wow! Now then, if you hurry and click the tubes link on your left you will see "Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Cirlce, Puscifer) recording his vocals for it at Jubilee's studio, Shabbey Road. Maynard sings with Aaron, and Mike on this song. Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) programmed the drumbeats for it, and Julian Gross (Liars) played "real" drums over those." Are we excited yet? Mostly take a look at jubilee.la for a few other tunes. They're pretty good and I'm free Wednesdays. They'll be playing in Dolans in Limerick on the 30th September. Lee, I hope you're still reading and not running off tubing things. Album will be out soon.
bandiki
September 26th (Friday) - Loaded (Duff McKagan)/The Loyalties - The Acadamy, Dublin - 28 euro
Oh dear, I know, I know but some friends of mine are fans of his. Fine, one friend, Claire, but the lengths she'd go to to stare at his midrift you wouldn't believe. Half way through the youtube clip one of the other guys in the band explains why their album sucks so hard. "We're just making a rock record you know. We're not making OK Computer, you know, we're not making Achtung Baby." Good, good. Show starts at seven.
bandiki
August 17th (Sunday) - Hamell on Trial - Whelans, Dublin - 20 euro
Good man Ed. Great to see him back. One of the hardest working musicians I know and well worth the effort.
bandiki
August 20th
(Wednesday) - MetallicA/Tenacious D - Marlay Park, Dublin
This is not to be missed. Shame about the midweekyness of it all though. I'm really looking forward to Jack and Kyle rocking out.
Metallica loves Ireland, and why the hell not. Welcome Home. Oh, sorry I almost forgot. Tickets will go on sale on Monday April 14th at 8:00am.
bandiki
July 24th (Thursday) - Butthole Surfers - Vicar Street, Dublin - 28 euro
I know, I know. They're still touring aparantly. Oh you do so remember them. You know that song about the pool or whatever. Anyway, they're great. I'm buying a spare ticket, who wants it? Queuey? Niamh? Hmmm?
bandiki
July 18th (Friday) - Ministry - Tripod, Dublin - 26 euro
Ministry own your fucking balls man! I'm so there! Wow.
July 11-13th (Weekend) - Rage Against the Machine (oxygen) - Punchestown, Kildare
So RATM will be headlining this year's Oxygen. Shame about the rest of the lineup. Tickets on sale to the general public form the 7th of March. If you register on the Oxygen website you can get an early go at them on the 3rd.
bandiki
June 3rd (Tuesday) - Obituary/Condemned/Warpath/Overoth - The Button Factory (formally TBMC), Dublin (24.50 euro)
These guys have been around for a long time and have just lashed out a new album. The guitarist is in jail until February for DUI. Ehm, that's it then.
bandiki
April 27th (Sunday) - Hurt - Eamonn Dorans, Dublin - 15 euro<cancelled>
They don't have many moments but when they do the really, really rock.
bandiki
April 15th (Tuesday) - Down - Ambassador, Dublin - 38.60 euro
Phil Anselmo's main band since Pantera. He was very drunk throughout the last show I saw them play. I have to admit I did enjoy it emensely nonetheless. Why even pretend I'm not going? If I'm in the country I'm there. What else would you be doing on a Tuesday night? Tickets on sale Friday 25th January. Likely not to sell out overnight. The last time they played they had a video playing instead of a support band and there's no mention of anyone playing with them this time either.
bandiki
April 07th (Monday) - The Breeders - Vicar Street, Dublin - 28 euro
The Breeders started out life as a collaboration side project and quickly grew to being an extremely popular band in their own right. The main driving force was Kim Deal from the Pixies. Now there's a musical heritage you can get behind :) Should be fun.
bandiki
March 12/13th (Wed/Thurs) - Velvet Revolver - Ambassador, Dublin
You know, the Slash band. Mostly GnR members with Scott Weiland from STP as lead singer. I have to admit to being entirely underwhelmed by this band. Waaay too much potential that just doesn't hit the mark.
bandiki
February 27th (Wednesday) - Hamell on Trial - Whelans, Dublin
He's a touched young man. Ed Hamell, rock and roll folk legend. His shows are insightful in the best possible way and I'd imagine I'll be there.
bandiki
February 16th (Saturday) - The Dillinger Escape Plan - The Village, Dublin (21 euro) <Venue Change>
Mike Patton used to play with these guys. They're a bit good. If it didn't clash with Queuey's birthday plans we'd all be there... Known for their >ahem< energetic shows. The venue has changed from Whelans to the Village. All tickets are still valid. Doors at 19:30.
bandiki
February 9th (Saturday) - Smashing Pumpkins - RDS, Dublin
Look at that there one for young Mr. Hosty. Confirmation here.

bandiki
January 29th (Tuesday) - Henry fucking Rollins - Vicar Street, Dublin (29 euro)
Why are you still here, go imediately to ticketmaster and buy tickets. Don't worry
about anything. Me and uncle Henry guarantee a great show. It's all seated so buy a bunch of tickets. It
is of course the spoken word, not the band. Oh my GOD it's Henry Rollins!!! You heard me, go, go now!
bandiki
January 13/14th (Sunday/Monday) - KoRn, Flyleaf, Deathstar - Ambassadoor, Dublin (49.20 euro)
Korn are coming back. They're a great live act. Having said that they will of course be
without Head as he's lost his. I'm going on the Monday. Sunday's standing room is sold out.
bandiki
December 23rd (Sunday) - The Pogues - RDS, Dublin (49.20 euro)
There's a lot of interest growing in this gig. I'd imagine fairytale will be on the set list.
bandiki
December 22th (Saturday) - Kerbdog - The Village, Dublin (20 euro)
Cormac you legend. Gig starts at 19:30. I know it's dangerously close to Christmas but it
would on the other hand be well worth sticking around for. Red is white.
bandiki
December 15th (Saturday) - Sultans of Ping - The Village, Dublin (23 euro)
I wonder if they ever found that fucking jumper.
bandiki
November 18th (Sunday) - Machine Head/trivium/arch Enemy/dragonforce - Ambassadoor, Dublin (30 euro)
They've been quiet for a few years but were a great band. Let freedom ring with the shotgun blast!
I wish I knew about the support before they bloody sold out. Keep checking, ticketmaster often have extra tickets pop
up closer to the date.
bandiki
November 8th (Thursday) - Serj Tankian - Ambassadoor, Dublin (33.60 euro)
What do you mean "who's he?". He's the bloody lead singer in System of a Down, that's who he is! Jesus!
Just buy the damn ticket. Saul says it best.
"Serj Tankian is not what he used to be. [He's better.] The Lebanese-born Armenian-American poet gone wild has blossomed beyond voice and hair into true fire and brimstone, melodic visionary perched on a cannonball soaring light speed through the heavens, striking chords from every cloud and raining from the heart.
His newest solo project ELECT THE DEAD, where he plays just about every instrument, shows more range than the US Missile System, exploding the parameters of "political" or intellectual music into realms of just good shit.
Sonic sanctuary is the term that comes to mind when describing Serj's voice. An angel scribbling into the margins of a book, unholy, contemplating the afterfuture while indicting the overbearing presence of the present (that's poetry mumbo jumbo for "you'll find it pretty cool to hear your son singing along with this album... You'll pat yourself on the back for raising kids with good taste").
Now pop it in your Prius and listen."

October 9th (Tuesday) - Ani DiFranco/Hammel on Trial - Tripod, Dublin (34 euro)
It's brilliant to hear that Ani is touring again. She has been off the scene for
several years due to a hand injury. She will be very warmly welcomed back to our shores and I for one
will be doing at least some of the welcoming. Hurrah!
videobandiki
Quit living in the past man, contemporise! Old gigs for the sake of nostalgia.
August 2007
August 27th (Monday) - Peeping Tom - Tripod, Dublin (28 euro)
Mike is going to have another go at it. No doubt from the reaction he got when he was last
over he figured Irish people wanted bands, not progressive Mac ambience. So leading Peeping Tom he's going to
bravely give it another go. I doubt my girlfriend will go to this one hearing that it's the same guy but I'd
imagine that I will :) Gig starts at eight.
videobandiki-ish

June 26th (Tuesday) - Slayer - Live at the Marque, Cork (45 euro)
I know yeah, but Cork on a Tuesday... That's a hell of a commitment. If you live in
or near that side of the country it's where you should be. Aikenpromotions have somehow managed to get them
to agree to headline the Cork festival. The Who are playing on the 30th.
Madness. I wonder if there'll be a redeye
coach there and back.

August 23rd (Wednesday) - Pearl Jam - The Point, Dublin
There you go Simon. PJ are coming over to promote the self titled album. I hope it
doesn't suck ;) Tickets should be on sale this week. They went on and off sale very quickly indeed. Gig sold
out in ten minutes (coincidentally, get it? 10 mins, Ten the album... Ah for God's sake, I sometimes feel I'm
wasting my time with you people. Then I remember I'm actually wasting my company's time, ho hum.) They appeared
for sale on EBay scant hours later by evil doers and are now fetching almost five hundred for two tickets. Some
touts are even offering hotel packages with the tickets. Oooooh bloody boils abound, I mean it boils my blood.
Hopefully this is just Ticketmaster reserving tickets, batch releasing them to increase hype. Won't wollys
who pay 500 euro for a ticket be sickened when their next door neighbour buys a 55 euro one a month later?
It turns out myself and about ten million friends and well wishers are going to the PJ show in Berlin instead.
Damn soldy outednessity. Nuts to it I say, almonds!

checking out before he up dies. (What?! He's old!)
July 7/8th (Friday/Saturday) - Deftones (second date announced) - Ambassador, Dublin (35 euro)
If you're in the country then this is where you should be. I saw them live a couple of years ago and they were
excellent. Don't forget, book
now
and worry about it later. Second date announced due to popularity of the first. Hmmm, should I go both days...
Pondery
mac Ponderface. My parents made me strong to lick up that glass.
June 2006
June 4th (Sunday) - Dweezil Zappa (Frank's son :) - Vicar Street, Dublin (60 euro)
'Tis a tad
expensive but Steve Vai is one of the special guests :) Others include Terry Bozzio and Napoleon Murphy
Brock.
Wielding that noble savage stick the hunter returns. Buying or selling
tickets.
June 8th (Thursday) - Sick of it All,
Pete the Killer - Voodoo Lounge, Dublin (e17.50)
Oh I'm too excited.
SCRATCH THE SURFACE, SERVE THE PURPOSE!!!!! Gosh and heck. It would be an incredibly
violent mosh were it to be in the Ambasadoor or such but either way I'll take it. "Get the clown." Doors at eight.
I know yeah, they're playing Donnington as well, doors at 18:00. Tickets through tickemaster from 9:00 Saturday.
I'll post the pre-sale password if there is going to be one. Looks like the Crue won't be making this. Rumours
online state that they actually knew nothing about the gig prior to its promotion and had never agreed to play
with GnR. It's still not clear to this site whether or not Slash will be joing Axl in this endeavour. Opinions
differ.
June 11th (Sunday) - Metallica/Alice in Chains/KoRn - RDS, Dublin (E64.50 - E75.00)
Get yourself a damn ticket now. I'm not kidding, you do _not_ want to miss this gig.
James announced this on 2FM. It's supposedly one of only two European Metallica gigs this year. Snap up
them tickets fast as soon as they go on sale. Whatever your opinions of them now, it's still fucking
Metallica!!! They are playing as part of the ..
wait for it .. Irish leg of the Download festival.
Tickets go on sale Thursday 16th at 9 am. But eh, cool.
Tickets were on presale. The ticketmaster password was
escape.
"My mother was a witch, she was burned alive" - Am I eVil? Oh hell yes I am, I am MAN
There appears to be a strong possibility of a three day event being wrapped around this. Check
download.ie for details. (When they get around to it that is)
Alice in Chains will be playing according to Cantrell's
site.
Pure speculation and online musings also put Trivium, Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold and KoRn
on the bill. I'll let you know the voracity of such claims as and when I do.
June 12th (Monday) - Primordial/Opeth - Ambasador, Dublin - E32
Opeth are a great band and I'll see you all
there. Here's a wee video on
YouTube.
June 13th (Tuesday) - DOWN - Ambasador, Dublin - E33.70
OMG, OMG, OMG. Oh no way! You are shitting me, are you for real, Down?!! Seriously? Wow. I gotta take
that week off work altogether. Gig after gig. They're all coming!! Ahem so anyway yes, Down are
playing the Ambassador fronted of course by Pantera's Phil Anselmo. This gig should be loud and
violent and I'm particularly looking forward to it. Oh, three day metal fest. Hopefully the preceding
two days won't break me too badly before this. I'm so excited I could poo! Oh they're playing Monday
in Mandela Hall in Norn Iron as well. Go fetch yourselves some
tickets.
June 15th (Thursday) - Obituary/Suffocation - TMBC, Dublin (e32)
They seem to like Ireland. Good for them. Tickets from tickets.ie Doors open at six.
June 26/28/30th (Monday) - The Frames - Various Nationwide, Dublin (0 euro)
Mon 26/06/06 20:30 Frames Vicar Street Dublin
Wed 28/06/06 21:30 Frames INEC - Gleneagle Hotel Killarney
Fri 30/06/06 20:00 Live At the Marquee - the Frames Live At The Marquee Cork
May 2006
May 31st (Wednesday) - Alice Cooper - Vicar Street, Dublin (54.50 euro)
Good man Alice kicking this old rawker festival off. I think they've all just realised how much they can get away
with charging for concert tickets these days. Hurrah!
April 2006
April 9th (Sunday) - BOLT THROWER plus guests - TBMC, Dublin (16 euro)
Bolt Thrower have long been a favourite of mine. Excellently heavy. I will see you there. Note the venue
change, original tickets still valid.
The last gig they played sucked big gay monkey balls. Total rip off. This is a far smaller and cheaper venue
though so it may well suit them better as a band. You know remind them that they're world class musicians
rather than the money grubbing aging hacks that played at the Point supported by morons.
April 21st (Friday) - Cannibal Corpse, Deeds of Flesh - TBMC, Dublin (23 euro)
Another classic, doors at 7:00.
April 23rd (Sunday) - The Cardigans - The Ambassador, Dublin (33.70 euro)
You know, that blonde Swedish babe. Sang with Tom Jones in that convertable. Thingy, splendid, YES!
April 27th-30th (Sunday) - Fun Lovin Criminals - Irish Tour (no shit)
Thu 27/04/06 - 20:00 Fun Lovin Criminals - The Music Factory, Carlow
Fri 28/04/06 - 21:00 Fun Lovin Criminals - TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar
Sat 29/04/06 - 20:30 Fun Lovin Criminals - Time, Co Kildare
Sun 30/04/06 - 18:30 Fun Lovin Criminals - Trinity Rooms, Limerick City
March 2006
March 1st - Staind - Ambassador, Dublin (33.50 euro)
March 10th (Friday) - Against Me - TBMC, Dublin (18.15 euro)
Punk punk punk! Another of those no alcohol gigs which are proving so popular at the minute. I hope that trend subsides
some time soon. Forcing the poor kids to smuggle in vodka.
March 18th (Saturday) - Dragonforce - Ambassador, Dublin
A little tacky but from what I've been hearing the last gig in TBMC was great entertainment. I'm definetly
going to try and get along to this one.
March 28th - Henry Rollins (Spoken Word) - Vicar Street, Dublin (27.50 euro)
Oh my Gawd, it's HENRY ROLLINS!!! What else can you say about the machine that fronted Blag Flag
and the Rollins Band? He said it best when he said "I'm a monster" uhhuh. You might not believe him but would you
argue with him? I thought not. Hecklers beware, there's a monster about.
WARNING: This clashes with Sepultura. However the Sep gig starts at 7:00 and they
are the support so they should be on first. Henry opens his doors at 8:30 so if you're really lucky you might be
able to squeeze in the better half of both gigs. I'll leave it up to yourselves. There might well be a pilgrimage
at 9:00 from the Ambassador to Vicar Street. Dumb ass promoters. Buying or selling
tickets?
March 28th - In Flames/Sepultura - Ambassador, Dublin (27.65 euro)
Legend. Don't miss it. Bear in mind that for some insane reason Sep are the support band so get
in early. I must warn you though there will be no drink served and the place is likely to be
crawling with eleventeen year olds. Doors at 7:00. Confirmation
here.
February 2006
February 23rd - Violent Femmes - Trinity Rooms, Limerick
Limerick eh? I remember that place. Trinity Rooms was Docs by the way.
Gig starts at 8:00.
February 25th - Violent Femmes - Vicar Street, Dublin
Still alive, still touring. Tickets are
available
for 30 euro.
January 2006
January 9th (Monday) - Obituary, Samael, Maroon - Templebar Music Centre, Dublin
Something for the serious metaller in us all :) Gig starts at 7:00 and costs a mere 30 euro.
January 28th - Soulfly - Templebar Music Centre, Dublin
Sepultura's illegitimate spawn. Great band worth a visit.
January 31st - American Head Charge/Soil/Panic Cell - Templebar Music Centre, Dublin
Well AHC and Soil rock so it's worth going to for those two alone.
December 2005
December 11th 19:00 - Life of Agony - Templebar Music Centre, Dublin - 22.50e
Another of those new style metal bands. You know the kind, short spikey hair, jet black tatoos that look about a week
old :) These guys are pleasant enough though. Take a peek at their website. You can
download a video or two there. If you want to get tickets then the
master has what you need for a mere 22.50 euro.
December 19th 19:30 - Kerbdog, Mike Got Spiked, Boss Volenti - Templebar Music Centre, Dublin - 22.50e (Date/Venue changed)
Cormac it would appear is not
finished yet. I reckon I'll follow them about for another little bit. Fantastic live band.
I met a couple of youngfellas from Mike Got Spiked at the
Netsoc gig last night, nice chaps. I'm going to have to show up early for this one for a change.
Ahhh and I was looking forward to pre gig Fibbers pool and buckfast.
Update
The KERBDOG show due to take place in the Ambassador Theatre Dec 17th has changed date and venue.
The show will now take place at Temple Bar Music Centre on Dec 19th (Monday).
Original tickets are valid for the new show.
Should you be unable to attend a full refund is available, please return your tickets via secure mail to the address below before Dec 10th.
If you would like any more information regarding this event please contact our customer services dept on 01-6486060.
December 17th 19:30 - Sultans of Ping FC - The Village, Dublin - 22.50e
Time to go bouncing about the place in search of errant jumpers once more. They played in Waterford the night
before the Nirvana tickets went on sale... That was an emotional gig ;)
December 18th 19:00 - This is Menace - Mean Fiddler, London - £16.10
What can I say? It's a British metal collective who hopefully will make it across to Dublin at some point. Given that
they're playing London on a Sunday and I'm due a Monday morning lie in I think I might actually go
:) The band is comprised
of 15 singer from the very well knownHundred Reasons, Sikth, Therapy?, Carcass, Amen, Funeral For A Friend,
Pitchshifter, Earthtone9 and the Hiding Place. You can also win your own marble gravestone at the gig. There will
be a raffle with the tickets. (Death date is left blank for your relatives to fill in) You can get flights with
aerlingus for 1 euro over and 9 euro back based on Sunday out and Monday return. That works out with taxes and
all of that to 62.60 euro for flights. Then allow about UK£30/40 for accomodation in a hole of a hotel I know :)
All in all it will be an expensive trip over for just one night but should be an excellent gig.
December 20th 19:00 - Foo Fighters - The Point, Dublin - 45+ euro
These guys, you know, part of Nirvana.
Unfortunetly not the good part, hmmm. Pop rock for the masses, I won't be going.
December 23rd - The Pogues, Dropkick Murphys - The Point, Dublin - 44.50 euro
This will be the original line up of the Pogues; Shane MacGowan, Jem Finer, Spider Stacy, James Fearnley, Darryl Hunt,
Andrew Ranken, Philip Chevron, Terry Woods and Cait O'Riordan. Also the absolutely brilliant dropkick Murphys. Last
time I saw these guys live it rocked. Boston (Irish wannabie) punk band with plenty of energy. Just released a new
album called The Warrior Code. Oh and it's on a Friday night so some of you country folk might even be able to make
it up, screw Christmas.
Be warned though, the Pogues website says dropkicks will not be playing at the Dublin show and their own
website makes no mention of it. They are however listed to play with the pogues around England the previous week and
the online metal community seem to think it's a very strong possibility. I'll confirm as soon as I can.
TV says yes. The ads on telly at the minute say the Drop Kicks will be there :) This could be sweet.
November 2005
November 4th - Deus - Ambassador, Dublin
Lee's a bit fan, everyone else thinks they're weird. Still he was right about the Pumpkins. (
27.50 euro)
November 5th - Metallitia - Dolans Warehouse, Limerick
Great Metallica cover band. I've seen them several times and hopefully this weekend will see them again. w00t!
November 10th - The Frames - Point, Dublin
I've always like the Frames live performances. So they're at it again, buying tickets is a jolly little fun run puzzle
thingy. They actually force you to go to their website and pick up a password for use on
Ticketmaster. Wouldn't it be terrible if I
curcumvented that and told you the password was UNDERGLASS. Oh well, price=33.70 euro.
November 17th - the Prodigy - the Point, Dublin
Those nice young raver/rocker chaps are back over again. They're promoting it as a singles tour and will also
be appearing in Belfast and Cork. It costs 44.50e and you can get more information from the
horse's mouth.
October 2005
October 2nd - Dragonforce - Templebar Music Centre, Dublin
Yes, yes indeedly camp kill yourself, excellent band. Might see you
there :) Gig starts at 19:30 and costs 28 euro.
October 5th - Netsoc fundraiser, with surprisingly good bands ;) - Templebar Music Centre, Dublin
This one hot off the presses, doors at 19:30. Featuring Outbreed, Silver Addictive, Sun Dogs,
New Color Soul. Ten euro in with discounts for geeks and little folk with a studying bent. Hmmm, because I have
access to Netsoc irc does that make me a member entitled to various discounts, hmmm. Awaiting confirmation on
Silver Addictive as their site has them playing the official TFB that night.
October 15th - Disturbed - Templebar Music Centre
Oh my Lord yes, we chall be there and see those fine
youngsters. OOOOOhhhAhaha, down with the sickness.
October 25th 19:30 (Tuesday) - DIO - Ambassador, Dublin

September 9th - Fun Loving Criminals - Mandella Hall, Antrim
If Gary was in Ireland, he'd probably be going to this. King of New York.
September 15th - Mudhoney - The Village, Dublin 20:00

venue this year :) See some of you there! The rest of you better make it for Friday, Saturday etc. Come and
contribute to my delinquency.
September 17th - The Moth Complex - Fibbers, Dublin (3 euro)
Female singer, industrial music backdrop. Brilliant band, anyone up for my birthday will be going to this with me.
They have a definite NIN sound instrumentally. Go download a few songs from their
site. If you needed any more convincing, take a quick
look at the lead singer. Also playing:
07/10/05 The Hub 19:30 ? 8
September 17th - Decapitated - Voodoo Lounge, Dublin
Heavy stuff kids, Polish death metal. Should be filthy with the violence :)
September 18th - Denis Leary - The Point
I have to be honest, I'm in two minds about this one, our Denis was a pale reflection of Hicks to begin with
nowadays he's practically meek.
September 19th - Staind, Sevendust - The Ambassador, Dublin
Shan't be
there myself but I know some of you ladies like this sort of soft suedo metal nonsence. Anyway
19:30 and it costs 33.50 euro. I much prefer Sevendust and would have liked to see them headline but alas, no.
September 23rd - Trivium - Ambassador, Dublin
16 euro in. Gig has been moved from TBMC to the Ambass due to high ticket demand. Supported by All That Remains and
It Dies Today
September 30th - Silver Addictive - The Village, Dublin
Good little venue.
I saw Mudhoney there lately and it was fantasic. Great mosh, shame about the plastic glasses.
Anyway this one is in aid of Jack Daniels' 155th birthday. So here's to JD and here's to Dimebag Darrel who did
more for the brand than any advertising campaign ever could ;)
It's invite only so you have to mail jackdaniels@scomms.ie to be in with a chance of a ticket. Hosted by Dave
Fanning and with a Harley on raffle that night it should promise to be a great gig. Also if anyone involved fancied
donating a couple of tickets I could definetly put them to some very good use :)
August 2005
August 19th - Sonic Youth, Mainline - Marley Park, Dublin
I was surprised to see SY still on the go but still, could be an excellent gig. Time to break out some old cds and
remind myself of what was once a great band :)
August 19/20th - Tribute to Phil Lynott
As most of you know a friend of mine from work has been commisioned to sculpt a bronze statue of Phil for
Harry Street (Bruxelles St. :)) It's due to be unveiled on the 19th of August this year. The following day
there's a great big tribute on in the point with a myriad of bands playing: Gary Moore, Eric Bell, Brian Downey,
Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson, Brush Shiels, Wheatus, Therapy?, Biffy Clyro, Skye, Nutonic, Johnny Fean,
Jack L, Danielle Pfiffner, Jason Swindle, Alaska Lyle and others. The gig starts at 18:00 and the tickets are
pricey at 59.50 euro apiece.
August 23rd 16:00 - Pixies/Kings of Leon - Landsowne Road
Tickets are on sale now, 59.50 euro for standing. Where is my mind?
August 24th - Weezer (yes, again :D) - the Point, Dublin
After the huge reception they received in Vicar St. Weezer have elected to grace our shores with their presence once
more. If you missed them last time, could well be worth a visit. Tickets on
sale for 38.50 euro.
August 25th - Saul Williams - Crawdaddy, Dublin

features Zach De La Rocha. Coolness abounds
and tickets are 15 euro.

Erick Morillo, Slam, Mylo, Black Strobe, Roots Manuva, Sillicone Soul, The Frames,
QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, Mars Volta, Roderigo & Gabriela Plenty of details to be found here
It is still over crowded, over priced crap though but hopefully Audioslave will hang around for
a gig by themselves...
July 28th - Bulls on Parade (RATM tribute) - TBMC, Dublin, tenner in.
Unfortunetly on a Thursday but if you live in Dublin, they're well worth being hung over in work on Friday for :D
If you happen to find yourself in Sligo this is where you want to be. Metallitia are the best Metallica cover band
I've seen to date. That and they play the good Metallica stuff, very little of that new muck.
June 2005
