- Wildlife should stay wild.
- Extracting them contributes to the endangerment of species and encourages poaching.
Note: Lack of economic resources in underdeveloped countries can produce
"Breeding Centers" that are just can one more place to launder
wildlife.
- DON'T FEED WILDLIFE !
- They become an easy catch for poachers
- They become dependent on humans for feeding and will turn agressive if no food is provided
- They will accept food inappropiate for their digestion systems
- They will became exposed to human diseases
- They can spread diseases to humans
When travelling, avoid hotels and restaurants that house wildlife as a tourist attraction. Complain to the management, or to local authorities if you feel it appropriate
- SUPPORT CONSERVATION PROJECTS
Donate money directly to the project and your funds will go toward any number of worthwhile causes that will produce immediate changes. Money donated to Jardín Gaia goes towards:
- Hiring more staff:
Environmental Educator, Research Grants for biologist and veterinarians,
more Park Rangers
- Adding to and maintaining the existing infrastructure:
Expanding the clinic, completing the housing for volunteers and researchers, building additional
cages, etc.

Visitors to Jardín Gaia take a tour of the complex with a volunteer guide. In order to minimise the disturbance to the animals we give tours only four times a day and allow no more than 20 visitors per day. Tours are at 9 am, 11 am, 2 pm and 4 pm.
Visitors pay a minimum donation of $5.

Thanks to the dedication of several former Volunteers we are trying to establish Sister Organizations in USA, Canada & Europe that will help our project to grow. In the mean time we are working to a new Funding Proposal that will allow Jardin Gaia to grow and became self sostenible.
