Recruitment a Roaring Success

Recruitment for clubs and socs took place in the University Arena this evening the 12^th. It was a great success and we expect to see many of the new members become active in the coming weeks before our AGM

Minister Willie O’Dea was on hand to give us a boost and went down a storm with all involved; including Darragh Hearne of the Kayak Club who joined the cumann. He had tried to get the Minister to join Kayaking but was unsuccessful. Minister O’Dea was mightily impressed by the set up at the arena, remarking that it was a lot different to when he lectured at UL some years ago before being elected.

Our theme was one of healthy eating with free apples to all members until the apple source ran dry. We will be raffling the television from the stand at the AGM in week 4.

We are also grateful to Deputies Niall Collins, Timmy Dooley and Cllrs. Siobhán Ambrose; Kieran O’Hanlon and Noel Gleeson who came along to lend their support on the night.
