To Rebecca (~1996)
He lives in a silent world,
sound,voices he craves,
instead the air is empty.
The one he would wish
to talk to, is out of reach,
out of sight.
Loneliness, despair,
grief, guilt, rip his
mind asunder.
Raging against what?
but still the silence.
The radio mocks,
the gift reminds.
Anguish conquers,
hope was never heard of.
Lonely, missing friends,
ever thought of, ever
far away.
