Software Project ( semester 2, year 3 )
Simulation of library server / terminal system.  An access database on a PC 
was used as the central server.  Several PC's were used as client terminals.  
The GUI on the clients was written in Visual Basic.  The database on the 
server and the clients were connected by a winsock program.

Software Project ( semester 1, year 4 )
Development of an OMT model for user registration / deregistration in local 
control, hierarchical architecture mobile system.  Using Java to represent 
the classes involved.  Based on the ACTS Exodus project which undertakes 
experiments on the deployment of UMTS, a future 3rd generation mobile system.  

Final Year Project
Design and implementation of teleservices for an ISDN services management 
unit.  Analysis and design will be done using SOMT and target implementation 
platform is based on a HPC46400E microcontroller.  Much of the detailed 
design will take place on the UNIX based software tools for SDL.

Interests

I am interested in and often take part in table quizzes both in the college and
in Limerick.
I enjoy traveling and visiting other countries, I hope to work abroad again 
in the future.
Other pastimes include web programming, reading, music, hurling and going out.
I am currently a member of the Computer, Quiz and Alcohol Appreciation 
Societies in college and was president of the Quiz Society 1994 / 95.

Achievements

Captain of the Ard Scoil Rís team which won the national television quiz show 
'Blackboard Jungle' and the Cork Examiner Munster schools' quiz in 1992 / 93.

Member of the University of Limerick team which reached the quarter finals of 
the intervarsity quiz show 'Challenging Times' in 1995 / 96.
