This xsheep is an incredibly early version of an X clone of Esheep as found at http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/2269/esheep.htm and as requested at http://visar.csustan.edu/bazaar/bazaar_dateoffers.html . Consider it a pre-pre release. The current sheep is awesomely primitive and just shows that the sheep is practical under X. Run make to compile it. It will endlessly fall from the top and turn left, falling and sliding of the windows until it goes off the bottom, only to repeat at the top. There is a 1 in 30 chance (or somthing) that it will fireball and rentry in a dramatic fashion from topright to bottomleft. It will sometimes go to sleep, walk/run, jump at the edges of windows, splat after a long fall, bounce after a medium fall etc etc. It uses the Xshape extension as exampled in xwhirl, timers as found in xshow and Xpm to generate Pixmaps and transparent masks. It is possible to not use the Xshape extension, but it is uber flaky if that happens, and redraw is a real pain. I suppose though that is it possible that with somewindow managers that a title bar might appear over the sheep, hopefully most windowmanagers will honour the request not to do that, but you never know. (p.s. I use afterstep, and it works alright there) Original Document Date: Tue Aug 10 14:17:36 IST 1999 Author: Caolan.McNamara@ul.ie Real Life: Caolan McNamara * Doing: MSc in HCI Work: Caolan.McNamara@ul.ie * Phone: +353-86-8790257 URL: http://www.csn.ul.ie/~caolan * Sig: an oblique strategy Do the words need changing?
