Personal
Nokia
www.nokia.com
I know this is a corporate website, but since I work for them I thought I should put it in. If you follow the progress of mobile phones and digital telecommunications, there is lots of interesting and useful stuff hiding in the site, and for the less seriously involved, there is a pretty kewl version of the snake game built using Java... Check it out and register your high-score...
My Final Year Project
fypserver.csn.ul.ie
The website created to display my Final Year Project (FYP), Computerised Theatre Lighting, to the world. If you're interested in anything to do with lighting or music, and especially where computers can be applied to both, give me a shout.
Computer Society Network
www.csn.ul.ie
The homepage of the UL (University of Limerick) Computer Society, which I had the honour of being President of last year (1998/99). We maintain a number of servers (Linux) for our users running services including web, mail, ftp, news, irc and much more. If you have an interest in the absurdly technical then you are sure to find plenty of interesting stuff here.

Friends
Francis Kiernan
University of Jyväskylä, Finland
www.jyu.fi/~kiernan/
Currently on an extended vacation lecturing in the University of Jyväskylä, inflicting his musical talents on an unsuspecting Finnish populus. Is doing some interesting Psycho-Acoustic and Cognitive Music perception type stuff... Promises to update his site any day now ;-)
Thomas Quillinan
www.csn.ul.ie/~tom
Some handy links to F1 racing stuff, especially since we are both avid Eddie Irvine fans, even though he was beaten at the last second by Mika Hakkinnen this year - Flame me later, Finns... ;-) - he'll be back again next season to show the world...
Currently in Cork doing some form of Masters, so God only knows what will appear on his page next. ;-)
Olivia's Page
www.csn.ul.ie/~olivia
Poor Olivia almost got upset becuase I hadn't added a link to her page... Little did she know that it was merely my lack of knowledge regarding the existance of a web page in the first place that prevented me from adding her. Now, thankfully, the wrong has been righted and Olivia can take pride of place on my links page... Some useful Tommy Cooper jokes (...just like that!...) and links to various other useful knowledge resources on the web ;-)
Stephanie's Page
www.csn.ul.ie/~rover
A wild romp through the fantasies of a highly efficient German girl ;-)
There's also some interesting Folk Group information there. If you were (or are) a part of the UL Folk Group and are interested in getting information on activities in the FOlk Group at the moment, please give the list moderator a shout at folkgroup-list-owner@csn.ul.ie for more information.
Shane's Piping Pages
www.csn.ul.ie/~mrmen
Heaps of information about Shane Lillis and his pet pipe band, the City Of Limerick Pipe Band. Also, some interesting material on tartans and I think a little about his Final Year Project.
Whizzzzzzzzzzzzz...
www.csn.ul.ie/~whiz
We let Chris loose with notepad and a flakey knowledge of HTML, and this is what he came up with... ;-)
Mark Brislane
www.csn.ul.ie/~brislane
And here's what Mark Brislane came up with when let loose with a flakey HTML editor and the Apache web server ;-)
Anything you might want to know about the Irish Naval Service can be found here and if not on his pages, then he has provided links to various other useful resources around the web. Worth checking out for the pictures of the boats themselves.

Software
RedHat Linux
www.redhat.com
Linux! At last, a REAL operating system at an affordable (read FREE) price. Loads of useful information about the operating system, and on-line purchasing of a simpler to install than Windoze version of Linux. I'm already a big fan of RedHat 6.1 and I'm waiting for 6.2 any day now :-)
SuSE Linux
www.suse.com
Suse linux. The refreshing alternative to RedHat. Another excellent distribution of Linux, with a distinctly German flair (don't worry, it speaks English too...)
Available for download from this site and its mirrors FREE.
Textpad
www.textpad.com
An invaluable Text Editing package for Windoze. Download the Shareware version and see what you think. (If anyone has a better editing package than this, would they please let me know. I want it.)
Netscape
www.netscape.com
The home of Netscape Communications, which has a load of useful resources for development on the internet, including a HTML reference, graphics to add into your pages, and of course a pretty good browser for most platforms. (Which is now GPL'd :-)) WinAMP is now included in the download (which is nice!)
Jasc Software
www.jasc.com
Where you can find wonderful graphics packages like Paint Shop Pro and Quick View Plus. Unfortunately, a Linux version is not yet available. Perhaps they will think about porting PSP to some other platforms now as it's gaining popularity...

Music
The Boat Race
www.boat-race.co.uk
My local pub in Cambridge. Live music 7 nights a week! Only place in Cambridge that provides such entertainment! But be warned! I have been known to grace the stage with my presence... Better bring your earplugs ;-)
Full gig listings available online. See you there!
Yamaha The marvellous Japanese company who made my keyboard. They also make loads of other things, but I usually veer directly for the musical instruments section to see what new and interesting toys I can spend exorbitant amounts of money for next ;-)
Syntrillium's Site The makers of CoolEdit 96 and CoolEdit Pro (and a number of other useful gadgets). For audio editing on a PC you can't go far wrong. There is also a demo download of CoolEdit 2000 available! :-)
This link recently moved from the Software section into this new Music section...
WinAMP Download one of the best MP3 decoder/player's for the Windoze environment FREE for 30 days (shareware). Visual and DSP plugins are also available for download. From the lads at NullSoft™.
X11AMP And if, like me, you prefer more stable platforms for working on, like Linux, grab X11AMP to play your MP3's while you work. It works just like WinAMP but it runs on the X11 windowing system and it's completely free!!! :-)
University Of Limerick Folk Group
www.csn.ul.ie/~folk
The Web home of one of the many musical groups I have played with in my time. You'll find words of wisdom here and many photographs of members throughout the years getting up to various antics. Fun for all the family...

Miscellaneous
Dilbert
www.dilbert.com
Scott Adams' loveable creation. A product of years of high stress and middle management; most of the former being caused by the latter... ;-)
Check out the lazy engineer invention ideas. Some of them are really quite useful (or not... but at least entertaining...)
What Is???
whatis.com
A dictionary of computer and internet terms, acronyms and abbreviations.
VR Railways, Finland
www.vr.fi
Timetables and information on all the rail services in Finland. "What use is that?" I hear you say... Well, if you end up in Finland and want to get from Helsinki to Jyváskylá, this site is the bee's knees (or shins, or ankles, etc...)
Weather Underground
www.wunderground.com
Weather reports from around the world. See how cold I'm getting in Finland at the moment... ;-)
