University Folk Group...
The Group
The Folk Group is a group of completely mad and insane people who use the excuse of playing and singing folk music to go down to the Black Swan (a local pub) and drinking more than their fair share of drink.
But seriously, every Sunday a motley crew joins forces and sings at the student mass (Sunday evening at 7:30pm in Milford church) here in the University of Limerick. As students (especially Erasmus and study abroad students) come and go the group changes - sometimes a little, and sometime quite a bit.
The Sights
--- Perhaps some photographs of people who were / are in the folk group. Wonder if there are any pictures of us celebrating Christmas in the Stables. Perhaps a few snaps of people in Spanish Point. ---
The Sounds
--- A selection of the sounds of the Folk Group. Clean some of the stuff up from the hard disk at home, and also grab some stuff from Sylvie's tape. ---
The Website
And if I haven't given you enough information about the Folk Group here, check out the real Folk Group Website. It's currently being maintained by some completely mad 'Folk Groupies' in Ireland.
The Mailing List
For members (past & present) of the Folk Group only.
There is a new way of staying in contact with many of the members of the Folk Group: a mailing list allowing you to find out what has happened to Mike 'rhythm section' Davis, Gareth 'What song is this then?' Eason and many of the other celebrities who dared to make noise with the Folk Group. Send a mail to folkgroup-list-owner@csn.ul.ie for more information and to subscribe (or unsubscribe... not that you'd ever want to do that... ;-) )
