About Me

My name is David Lillis and I am a 25 year old postgraduate student in University College Dublin. I have submitted my MSc thesis, written while working as part of the HOTAIR Project (Highly Organised Teams of Agents for Information Retrieval), which is affiliated to the IIRG (Intelligent Information Retrieval Group). This was under the supervision of Dr. Rem Collier, Mr. Fergus Toolan and Mr. John Dunnion. I am currently working towards a PhD.

I hold a Higher Diploma in Computer Science from UCD and a BA (Hons) in Law and Accounting from the University of Limerick. My Final Year Project was an investigation into the tort of Defamation on the Internet.

Having worked for varying periods of time for a hospital, a concrete company, an aircraft leasing business, a dotcom, an airport and a flower bulb factory, there was (given my academic history also) a danger of my becoming the clichéd jack-of-all-trades. Hopefully becoming a Master of Science should sort that out.
