All Star & MVP Selection

This year will see the number of all stars awarded increase to 12 players for both men's & women's sections.
These 12 players will make up a representative 'Varsities All Star Team'.
UL Basketball Club has arranged for these teams to participate in a triangular tournament to be held in UL over the weekend of the 1st & 2nd of April. They will compete against the Irish U20 squads and a Welsh Select University squad.

The following method will be used to determine which players & coaches are selected for these squads, which will be announced at the Varsity Banquet.

Each coach will receive a nomination form on which he/ she is asked to nominate the 12 best players in the tournament, in order of preference. The order of preference is important as it will be used to assist in determining this years MVP's.
Coaches are also asked to nominate one coach who will take charge of this 'All Star Squad' for the duration of the triangular tournament. Coaches may not nominate themselves.

The results from all coaches will be counted and the 12 players & one coach with the greatest number of votes will be deemed selected. In the event of two players tying for the last spot the adjudicators will examine vote preferences to determine the 12th player.

As the coaches have voted in order of preference, the player with the most no.1 votes will be adjudged to be their MVP.

Voting slips should be returned to your liaison officer no later than the end of the semi finals.
