Luas on Track

The long running saga of the Luas light rail project for Dublin's streets looks to be finally at a terminus, with the first trams expected to be running by June (2004, we think). So The Fallon Times figured that it would be a good idea to take a look behind the scenes.

According to a source, the trams seen on TV are only for testing purposes. The real trams that will be used will be a much more modern version, with more defined colours for that extra character that is so lacking from public transport.

Commenting on the derailment during testing last week, a spokesman assured us that there was nothing wrong with the trams themselves; "It was only joyriders" he said.

The Long overdue Issue

The mental block has finally lifted from above The Fallon Times and the old lady of the information super highway is once again up and running. A lot has happened in the last year and a half(!) and The Fallon Times missed its chance to satirise all of it.

Well, the wait is over, the writers have been paid their dues, the readers have had their subscription cheques returned and the result that you see in front of you (ie: the lower half of this page being dedicated to inconsequential drivel to fill it up) is the result of too many Cadbury's Creme eggs on Easter Sunday. Enjoy.
