Not too Baaad

A sheep, named Ronnie, is set to become the first farmyard animal to line out for Manchester United. In a historic occasion Ronnie is set to be unveiled against West Brom next week at Old Trafford.

"It started out as a bit of a joke", claims his former owner, KP. We had Ronnie from when he was very little. He used to keep our lawn in trim. Meself and me mates were just kickin' the ball around one day, when Ronnie got in the way. We had uneven numbers that day, so it struck us to stick Ronnie in goal. It certainly proved to be a good idea, cause Ronnie was fairly handy in goal. Ronnie soon became unsettled in goal, however and we decided to give him a go "up front". It proved to be a masterstroke, if I do say so myself, 'cause he was always pretty nifty on the ball".

Ronnie was soon spotted by a conveinently passing Man Utd scout and the rest is, as they say, history.

"I suppose he's always been a bit of a natural", continues KP. "I mean, he loves the grass, he's never been put off by bad weather conditions and he's got a fierce header on him. I can't wait to see how he lines up alongside Ruud Van Nistelroy".

Ronnie, however is only the first farm yard animal to play for Man Utd. The accolade of first animal was taken back in the 90's by a certain Mr Cantona.
